Flush and Fire Doors Exterior flush doors are ideal for locations where a practical cost effective door is required. Available as fire door options. Supplied ready for finishing. Glass openings have equal side margins. Made in the UK. STANDARD SPECIFICATION CONSTRUCTION FLUSH DOORS Flush doors with sanded faces to accept paint finishing. Lipped on the long edges, the hollow core specification is cellular and blocked where appropriate for ironmongery. The FX Cottage door is solid core, but not fire rated. Hollow core exterior flush doors are not recommended for use where any degree of security resistance is required or where greater than light duty performance expected. If a letter plate is required this should be of the sleeved type to ensure protection against water ingress into the exposed door core. In fire doors letter plates must also be of an approved fire resisting design. A letterplate opening is prepared on the FX Cottage door. Paint decoration must be thoroughly applied, including full primer and undercoats. Doors are not suitable for stain finishing. INSTALLATION Flush doors used in exterior positions face particularly harsh performance requirements. Variance in temperature and moisture levels between outside and inside faces can often be considerable, causing distortion in the door. FIRE DOORS All Range Guide fire doors are compliant with British Standards and the BWF Certifire Scheme. See relevant Premdor data sheet for more details if required. ExtraCORE: Exterior doors can be reduced in size to suit most refurbishment situations. FD30 rated when hung in suitable frame with intumescent strips in jamb and head or top and long edges of the door, they can be reduced by up to 40mm from any side, whilst retaining their fire rating, provided the BWF-Certifire label is not removed from the top edge of the door. If doors are trimmed on site it is recommended that they are re-lipped prior to installation. Fireshield: FD30 rated, when hung in appropriate frame with intumescent strips in jambs and head or top and long edges of the door. Firemaster: FD60 fire rated when installed in appropriate frame with intumescent strips in jambs and head or top and long edges of door. DOOR BLANKS 914 x 2134mm (3'0" x 7'0") blanks have laminated timber cores faced with exterior grade plywood. They can be reduced in width and height to any size and are not fire rated. Door blanks are not manufactured by Premdor and are not guaranteed. This does not affect your statutory rights. WEATHER PROTECTION To ensure door and door frame provide adequate performance in exposed situations, it is recommended that a porch or canopy is installed. This is particularly critical with open in doors and pairs. DIMENSIONS Door thickness: FX range, Cottage, Fireshield and Door Blank - 44mm (1 3/4"). Firemaster - 54mm (2 1/8").
